Circle (Class 10)
There are 16 main statements You need to know in this chapter. For class 10 SEE candidates the circle's theorem either seen or unseen is sure for every exam. The question may be asked in Group C for 4 marks or Group D for 5 marks.
1. Equal chords of a circle subtends equal angles at the center.
2. If the angles subtended by the chords at the center of a circle are equal then the chords are equal.
3. The opposite arcs of equal central angles are equal.
4. The central angles formed by equal arcs are equal.
5. The corresponding arcs of equal chords are equal.
6. The chords of equal arcs are equal.
7. The perpendicular drawn through the center to the chord bisect the cord.
8. In a circle equal chords are equidistant from the center.
9.The chords equidistant from the centre are equal.
10. Angle at the circumference standing on the same arc is equal.
11. The angle at the center is double the angle at the circumference standing on the same arc in a circle.
12. Angle at the circumference is a right angle in a semicircle.
13. The sum of opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral is supplementary.
14. The parallel chords of a circle subtend equal arcs at the circumference.
15. If the opposite arcs between two chords are equal then the chords are parallel.
16. In a circle, the line joining centre and the mid point of chord is perpendicular to the chord.
